That might sound like a cliche, I know but Konami has a way of writing their characters to make them feel so three dimensional and relatable. Tokimemo always has a fairytale like atmosphere to it, with your prince always waiting to meet you at the end after working so hard for your love to blossom again.

Either by the said first love transferring, going overseas or you simply drifting away from them, you'd surely meet again by your bonds of fate which you share together. Trust me) reminiscing memories with a childhood love (or loves if you're into 3P mode) you have been separated from by varying circumstances. You play as a shorthaired girl(it's ALWAYS a shorthaired girl.
#GLASS HEART PRINCESS PSP ENGLISH PATCH SERIES#
Most of the installments in the series are set in highschool. :) They run a YouTube channel named jjjewel2010 where they place their translations and English patches there as a hobby so you can check them out! You can still play the 1st to 3rd installments of the game in English thanks to a lovely programmer named jjjewel in gbatemp. My theory is that they tried to make a TokiMemo series that attempted to appeal to American/Western culture as a test run if more of their more "Japanese-y" games would sell on an international market. Rumors also say that due to Konami's first localized dating sim game: Brooktown High, being a flop, they have grown more cautious of localizing otome games like their more popular releases. Many of the jokes and the context is lost in translation and cannot be appreciated by most otome gamers because it's heavily themed with Japanese culture. However, its popularity is more prevalent in Japan than overseas because of its cultural relevance there. In fact, it's probably as popular as Hakuoki in Japan probably even more because it popularized the dating sim genre along with the Angelique series. As I have said earlier, this game series is not necessarily unpopular. My favorite otome game of all time is the third installment of this series. Tokimeki Memorial: Girl's Side (can be translated as Heartbeat Memorial)
